There are two mountain springs of 58 to 62 degree Celsius all year round (136 to 143 Degrees Fahrenheit).
An indoor mineral hot pool is available for the public to enjoy. The hot springs were discovered in 1858 by settlers
while enroute to the gold fields. The hot springs were revered as a "healing place" by natives of the Coast Salish
people, who traveled by canoe to benefit from their waters.

The Fraser Canyon

North of Dogwood Vacation Home, along Trans Canada #1 highway, following the Fraser River, is The Fraser Canyon, BC's gold rush trail. This section includes the towns of Hells Gate, Yale, Boston Bar, and Lytton, and is famous for white-water raftings.

Many waters and waterways make boating a natural. Kawkawa Lake has a public boat launch. Check out Lake of the Woods, the Fraser River and its tributaries, Silver Lake up the Skagit. Companies providing river rides are based in Yale and Boston Bar. In season, boats are used to tend fishing nets on the Fraser.

Gold digging made this stretch of land history and brought British Columbia into the confederation of Canada. With the Gold Rush in 1858, Yale became the head of navigation of the Fraser River as the rapids above Yale were impassable to the stern wheelers. Construction of the Canadian National Railway had enabled the route to be traveled by visitors.
